Mission Committee

In 2007, the Vestry of Grace Church formally organized the Mission Committee. The purpose of the Mission Committee is to proactively seek out, evaluate and consider opportunities for charitable giving in the local community and beyond and to make donations or recommendations for giving to the Vestry The organization of this committee formalized a long-standing commitment to outreach ministries in the community, diocese and beyond. The Vestry has set a goal of 10% of the operating budget towards charitable needs in addition to funds available for charitable purposes from trusts. The Mission Committee also recommends and coordinates mission work projects, encouraging and supporting volunteers from the congregation for such projects. Charitable donations have been given to such groups as the local Food Pantry, the Clothes Closet, Young Life, local families in need, Habitat for Humanity, Jackson Elementary class trip, and other worthy local projects and organizations.
